| Edward I Irish penny c. 1300 - 1302 |
Just thought you would like to see my latest
find using the x-terra 50 &18 khz coil.
It is an Edward 1st Irish Penny 2nd coinage c.1300-1302
size is 18mm, it read 27 on digital,high tone,using pattern 1
It was a good spadeful down which equates to 8-9 inches
I am well chuffed with this machine and 18khz coil.
Mike.

| Dinari found by Steffen in Germany |
It appears that the coin is a silver dinarius of the
Emperor Septimus Severus around AD 194 - 200 (In Power 193-211).
It is not an easy job to locate precisely as most of our books are of British
coinage and the variants used here rather than those in Germany. The reverse
of the coin should read MONETA, but appears to have the M missing and has
figure holding scales and Cornucopiae (Horn of plenty overflowing with
fruit).
Anybody who can make a better ID, please forward comments to Detecnicks
